Your GP change will take effect on the first day of next month, giving you access to a GP close to your place of study.
You must be registered with a GP at SiO to book a doctor's appointment. You can choose between a video consultation, an in-person appointment or a written consultation. Most appointments can easily be booked through Helsenorge.
For sexually transmitted infection self-tests, testing of MRSA, and removal of stitches, you don’t need to book an appointment in advance–you can just drop by. Find your health care center and opening hours for drop-in here.Please check in at the reception when you arrive. You will be seen by a member of our healthcare staff as soon as possible. Be aware that there may be some waitingtime.
If you are a SiO student and registered with a GP at SiO, you can apply for a refund of healthcare co-payments that exceed NOK 490 per year. This means that you only pay a maximum of 490 NOK per year yourself. SiO will refund eligible healthcare expenses above this amount, up to the national exemption card (frikort) limit.
You can apply for a refund at any time during the entire year. If you are applying for an entire calendar year, the deadline is January 31 the following year.
Most of our services are available at reduced rates for students. If you are registered with a GP at SiO, you can apply for a refund of healthcare expenses exceeding NOK 490 per year.

Courses, group sessions, and counselling services offered by Mental Health and Counselling, as well as testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are free of charge.
All students who have paid the semester fee can use our dentists and dental hygienists. Please remember to bring a valid student ID to your appointment.
You can easily book an appointment for a check-up via our booking page. Choose the dentist or dental hygienist you would like to see and select the appointment type “check-up e-appointment”. This is an in-person appointment at the clinic.

All our prices are student-friendly. For example, a check-up only costs NOK 870, including x-rays, cleaning and polishing.See our pricelist here.
There are many ways to improve your well-being. We offer self-help resources, free courses and group programmes, as well as counselling with psychologists and other professionals with expertise in health and student life.
All of our services are free of charge. However, if you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.
All students at SiO who have paid the semester fee can use our mental health services.
If you are a SiO student and have paid the semester fee, or if you are staff at one of the institutions affiliated with SiO, you can use our vaccination services. Read more here.

On our courses you will meet other students in person or participate anonymously online. The courses are conducted by, among others, psychologists and clinical social workers. You will gain knowledge and tools, similar to what you could receive in a therapy process, and support to try out changes you desire in your everyday life.Read more about courses here.
