About me
My name is Jesus Cabanas, but people just call me Sala. I work as a personal trainer at Athletica Vulkan and am part of a larger PT team there. I am PT Level 3, which means I have over 3,000 completed PT hours/more than two years of experience, additional training and special courses. As part of my additional education, I am a certified instructor in calisthenics, gymnastics, kettlebell and TRX. Alongside my job as PT in SiO Athletica, I also work as a piercing artist, and you will also see that I have a passion for tattoos. I am a positive, optimistic and outgoing person, and I am passionate about training being fun and exciting.
The PT team at Athletica
In a hectic everyday life, it is hard enough to set aside time to exercise and everything that comes with it. Add a lack of motivation and the distance to the gym, and the threshold can be even higher. That is one of the reasons why we, PTs, are here.SiO Athletica makes great efforts to have a diverse team of trainers to attend to your needs. We have a big focus on positive energy. Training should not only be of the right amount and challenging, but it should also be fun.

This is important to me
For me, it is important that training should be enjoyable and adapted to your needs and training goals. In the first session with me, I will map out who you are, ask you some questions and perhaps perform some simple physical tests. We will agree on this together. In this way, I can tailor a plan just for you and your goals.I use my many years of experience and knowledge from several different types of training when I prepare training plans and programs. When I am your PT, we will focus on quality so that you feel safe when you exercise, even when I am not around. At the same time, I will challenge you more than you would do yourself, but you should know that I will never push you too hard. It is important that you feel safe and that you can trust me. Being a personal trainer is a big responsibility and it is essential that you feel comfortable during our time together.
Role model
I have a personal goal of being a positive role model for all my clients. I don't see being a PT as just a physical trainer, I also want to inspire through my attitude. Part of my role as a personal trainer is to always be positive, optimistic and outgoing. I try to strive for this in every single session.

Typical questions I often get
After all my years at SiO Athletica, I have received quite a few questions from customers and potential customers. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions.
• How long will it take to reach my goal? This is individual, but with the right guidance I can assure you that you will always reach your goals with one of us. Sometimes it is quick and sometimes it may take a little more time. We work as a team. This therefore depends on you, me and the time we put into it - and of course also your goals.
• How often do I need to go to the gym?Again, this is individual. The more you put into something, the better you get. Having said that, a PT will always adapt the plan to your lifestyle, time and needs. Don't worry, you don't have to live at the gym to achieve your goals. Rest is just as important as exercise and you need a good balance.
• Should I train in the morning or in the evening?Based on personal experience after trying both out, I can say that it usually doesn't matter much. The most important thing is to find a routine that suits your schedule, whether it concerns work, studies or something else. One thing worth mentioning is that you should stay away from very heavy exercise right before bed as this can disturb your sleep. Otherwise, find the solution that suits you.
Make sure that the training is enjoyable - you should have fun. Choose an activity or PT that brings you joy.
