War crimes and child rights: The role of civil society and the UN

Join us for a round table discussion that dives into the impacts of war crimes from a child rights perspective. In honor of the UN Day of the Child, we’ll host key experts Kyrre Lind (International Advisor, UNICEF Norway) and Sigurd Johns (Director, Child Protection, Health, and Nutrition at Save the Children), alongside a representative from the petition Forsvar Folkeretten Geir Kjell Andersland (leader of ICJ Norway's child right entity). The evening will begin with a brief introduction to their work for child rights in Gaza, the occupied West Bank and in Lebanon, after which they’ll circulate among tables of students in a small-group format. We prepare questions for you, but you can also freely use this opportunity to engage directly with these professionals, ask questions, and gain insights into the urgent needs of children affected by conflict and the global efforts to defend their rights.
