Speak Up! Tuition fees for international students

Speak/Listen up! Are you frustrated and angry with the implementation of tuition fees for international students in Norway? Then join the Oslo Socialist Students at Fyrhuset Kuba on Wednesday 19th of April to speak your opinion on this issue. Several major organizations for students will be present to say a few words, and to listen to yours! Guests: - ANSA, the Association for Norwegian students abroad. - NSO, the Norwegian Student Organization. - SAIH, the Norwegian Students' and Academics International Assistance Fund. Background: In 2022 the Norwegian Government suggested to implement tuition fees for students from outside of the EEA and Switzerland. Khrono writes that the range of these tuition fees will be between 128.000 to 489.000 kroner per year!! Many universities, associations and students have raised their concerns as it will increase inequalities and decrease international academic collaboration. However, not much has happened. We invited Ola Borten Moe, the Minister of Research and Higher Education, to listen and speak with us, but he rejected our invitation. Therefore we believe it is even more important to create an arena to raise our frustration - and speak up! Come alone or with friends to learn more about this topic and contribute in the political fight. Pizza will be served, and we will finish off the evening with a walk in the city to hang up posters!
