Employee status

Once a year we have a review of all employee memberships to ensure that those who are entitled to the discounted price get it. We therefore need proof that you are still working at one of the places that have an agreement with SiO Athletica.

The deadline for showing your documentation is February 28th 2025.

Valid documentation can be shown at one of our receptions. If you do not have the opportunity to show it at the reception, you can send us your copy of documentation via the contact form on sio.no/en: First select the category "Sports", then "StudentID/EmployeeID”. We appreciate that you write "Employee status" in the subject field.

We accept one of the following as a proof of employment: 

• Valid employee ID 
• Screenshot of pay slip only showing personal details, date and employer 
• Document from the employer showing employment 
• Link to the employer’s website that shows a connection to the place of employment

Then you must let us know so that your membership can be changed to the correct place of employment. Bring valid documentation to one of our receptions and they will help you change your membership. Yes, once a year we have a review of all employee memberships to ensure that those who are entitled to the employee discounted price get it. We therefore need proof that you are still working at one of the places that have an agreement with SiO Athletica. We need this even if you have shown your employee documentation at an earlier time. 

You can of course still be a member, but then your membership will change to an ordinary membership from April 1st. You will then be invoiced for January, February and March. The invoice will be sent out in mid-March on a separate invoice by e-mail. We would also like to remind you that you must change the maximum amount on your Direct debit, and the email address associated with the membership in case this is an address you no longer have. 

You must let us know so that your membership can be changed. Bring your valid student ID to one of our receptions and they will help you change your membership. Then you can cancel your membership. For termination, the normal termination rules apply. The notice period is one month counted from the first of the following month. 

If you have canceled your membership, you will still be invoiced the difference between employee price and ordinary price for the months of January, February and March. To get a discounted membership price, you must be able to show that you are still employed at a place with an agreement with SiO Athletica.

If you are retired from a place with an agreement with SiO Athletica, you must send us documentation showing that your old employer can continue to subsidize your membership with SiO Athletica and that you will still be entitled to the employee price. If you are on leave, but are still employed at a place with an agreement with SiO Athletica, you may still be entitled to an employee price. Send us documentation that you are still employed even if you are on leave.
