Eilert Sundt

The kindergarten is centrally located at Blindern Campus at The University of Oslo, and has six departments. We have ample space for the very youngest, and four of the departments accommodate children aged 8 months to 3 years. The other two departments cater to children from 2.5 years to 6 years old. We have room for 72 children.

In our kindergarten, we have a nice outdoor playground and a large house with excellent opportunities for both play and learning indoors. Additionally, we have many nearby and good destinations for outings. We have a short distance to train and bus stops that can take us to other exciting places.

We have many kindergarten teachers, experienced professionals, and kindergarten assistants. In the kindergarten, we organize many joint events and celebrations, and we often celebrate holidays together. We have groups across the departments. One of these is the pre-school group, which works to prepare children for school.

Eilert Sundt is one of two kindergartens in SiO that are now pilot kindergartens in the development of good play environments in collaboration with STYD Communication. The kindergarten is also a practice kindergarten for the kindergarten teacher education at OsloMet.

Welcome to SiO kindergarten

SiO kindergarten preserves the magic of childhood. Children live in the moment and must be given the opportunity to experience every day as meaningful and limitless. Play and children's wonder are our primary focus. Children can experience small moments as magical and must be given the opportunity to be spontaneous and impulsive. We want all children to feel that our kindergarten is a good and safe place to be, where everyone feels seen and appreciated for who they are, and where they can be themselves regardless of gender or background.
