Bamsebo

Bamsebo is located on Campus Blindern at The University of Oslo. The kindergarten is situated between the lower campus and NRK Marienlyst. The kindergarten consists of Bamsebo 1, and Little Bamsebo 2. The central location at Blindern makes it easy to drop off and pick up children.

Bamsebo and Little Bamsebo work closely together and have joint gatherings, outings, and activities across the houses. The interaction is tailored to the children's age groups.

Our outdoor area stretches around the entire kindergarten. We have play structures, swings, a sandbox, stairs, and slopes. In addition, we have redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes, apple trees, and cherry trees. Inside the kindergarten, we have various communal spaces including a climbing wall, music room, library, and a cushion room.

We utilize the kindergarten's local surroundings for outings. The nearby areas include Friggfeltet, the crocodile forest, Leker'n, and the library at Majorstuen. We have a short distance to many exciting places, such as the faculty exhibitions at Blindern Campus, the swimming pool at Domus Athletica, or the gymnasium at Blindern Athletica. In addition, we have a short distance to public transportation that can take us to other exciting places in Oslo.

SiO kindergarten preserves the magic of childhood. Children live in the moment and must be given the opportunity to experience every day as meaningful and limitless. At our place, play and the children's wonder are in focus. Children can experience small moments as magical and must be given the opportunity to be spontaneous and impulsive. We want all children to experience that our kindergarten is a good and safe place to be, where everyone feels seen and recognized for who they are, and can be themselves regardless of gender and background.
