Frequently asked questions about courses
Do I have to say anything? No.Many students hesitate to join courses because it can feel vulnerable or scary to be together with others in such a setting. Remember, though, that the others are in a similar situation as you! You can choose how much or little you want to say.
How many others are participating? Some courses are held as webinars, where you participate anonymously without video or microphone. There can be anywhere from 5 to 50 participants. You can participate via chat, which is only visible to the course facilitators.Courses held in person usually have a maximum of 15 participants. You can choose how much or little you want to share about your own experiences or questions.
Where are the courses held? The courses are held either digitally or at one of our two health centers: Kristian Ottosen's House near Blindern or Holbergsgate 21 in the city center.
Do the course facilitators and participants have a duty of confidentiality? The course facilitators have legal legal duty of confidentiality. No records are kept since the courses are not considered treatment. Participants have a moral duty of confidentiality, which is clarified at the beginning of each course.
What does it cost? All courses are free of charge.
What if I can't attend? For in-person courses: Notify us at kurspamelding.siohelse@sio.no as soon as you know you can't attend (preferably at least two days before the course), so we can give the spot to another student. For webinars, you don't need to unregister, but if you want to receive the PowerPoint or have other questions, you can send an email to kurspamelding.siohelse@sio.no.
