Please meet up 10 minutes before each lesson by the reception of Blindern Athletica. Bring water and training clothes. Tuesday: kl 19.10-20.40 Thursday: kl 19.45-21.45 Friday: 19.00-20.45 Saturday: 10.00-11.45 What is kendo? Kendo is a Japanese martial art from the 17th century. The purpose of kendo was to hone the fighting skills of the samurai class. Modern kendo is a fencing sport, and the aim is to strike the opponent using a bamboo sword called a shinai. Kendo practitioners wear body armour called bogu. We are a small but extremely active club who train 4 times a week. We do regular social events and travel to regional/international competitions frequently.
